Real life is messier. You can work hard at a job and still get passed over. You can be kind and still get hurt. You can try your best and still fail. The rewards are delayed, the variables hidden, and there is no guarantee of fairness.
That is not a flaw in real life. That is what makes real achievement meaningful.
A rank in a game is guaranteed if you put in the hours. But a skill you build in the real world—a language, an instrument, a relationship, a career—is not guaranteed. It requires persistence through uncertainty, setbacks that are not part of a designed system, real courage.
